We brew with the best local and imported ingredients to make full-flavored, bold, and creative beers that are free of adjuncts and artificial preservatives.

We currently have several core beers that we brew year-round, and many seasonal beers that each year we look forward to brewing, and a long history of one-off and collaboration beers. We love experimenting, blurring the lines, and combining new flavors for whimsical beers in all sorts of styles!

A Belgian Wit, Beijing-style. Pale wheat malts, local mandarin orange and coriander seed give this beer a sunny color and a crisp, dry finish.

Koji Red Ale

ABV: 5.5% | 25 IBU

An experimental ale made with Koji sake rice, wasabi root and ginger. The result is a blushing red color, a fruity aroma, and barrel-like notes.

An experimental ale brewed with red koji rice, an ingredient traditionally used in the production of Chinese Huangjiu and Japanese Sake. The addition of koji rice to the mash imparts a blushing red color and woody, barrel-like notes. Subtle additions of wasabi root, ginger, and moderate bitterness from earthy and herbal hops round out the palate of this unique and complex beer.

Brewed in collaboration with Mondo Brewing and Dudda’s Tun Cider. Extra Pale, Wheat, Oats and Lactose provide the base. Jona Prince and Gala apples in the boil, bittered with Hallertau Blanc. Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin added for flavor addition. Cinnamon, goji berries and vanilla in the whirlpool. Fermented with a Vermont Ale yeast strain. Refermented on yellow peaches. Hallertau Blanc, Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin dry hop for aroma.

The follow up to our first collaboration with Põhjala in Estonia, Late Night Date. A Bourbon Barrel-aged Imperial Stout with Bourbon Barrel-aged coffee beans from China’s Yunnan province.



Made in China

ABV: 6% | 20 IBU

A follow-up to our “Made in Denmark” collaboration brewed in Copenhagen, this fusion between a witbier and an IPA boasts a silky-smooth body due to the inclusion of flaked wheat, but zaps the palate with a zesty kick of Lemondrop hops and fresh kumquat fruit. Each sip is rounded off by a blend of sweet-tart rosehips and floral chamomile prepared by Christian Gadient, head chef of BRUS.

Brewer’s yeast comes to grips with its wild cousin Brett in this modern take on a Belgian Pale Ale. This beer was dry-hopped with a blend of old-world and new-world hops, so give your glass a swirl and enjoy rich tangerine and tropical fruit aromas bursting out from the grassy base notes.



ABV: 8% | 50 IBU

Brewed in collaboration with our Swedish friends at Brewski for this year’s 8×8 Brewing Project. A continuation of their flagship “Feber” series of IPAs that are dosed with a crazy amount of fruit (MangoFeber, PassionFeber, etc… ), this hazy New England DIPA is loaded with tropical hops and a big addition of fresh-pressed pineapple juice.


Yangmei Sour

ABV: 5% | 20 IBU

A collaboration brew with Trip Smith from Guiyang. This beer uses a variety of fruity, citrusy hops and an infusion of fresh Yangmei, or Yumberry. This local Chinese fruit combines the sweetness of strawberries with a tartness reminiscent of pomegranate seeds, emphasized further by a light blend of kettle-soured ale.


Sky Temple

ABV: 6.9% | 6 IBU

This beer is a custom-blend of lambic-inspired traditional spontaneous ale that was re-fermented with dried Hawthorne berries direct from China. Pink, tart, and fruity, but still showcasing a depth of flavor and complexity that can only come from spontaneous fermentation.

Guo Zao Breakfast Stout

ABV: 6.8%  |  40 IBU

An American-style stout with rich notes of nuts and chocolate. Brewed in collaboration with Number 18 Brewing on our recent visit to Wuhan, Guo Zao is the local phrase for eating breakfast, and this beer includes additions of black sesame and sticky rice, key ingredients in some of Wuhan’s famous morning snacks like Reganmian (hot dry noodles), Tofu-skin Rolls and Wuhan-style Shao Mai.

Barrel demented hefeweizen with Brett/Szechuan peppercorns. Made in collaboration with Monday Night Brewing.

Lychees your thing? Don’t miss Happy Seasons, brewed in collaboration with our friends at Cloudwater Brew Co. This IPA was made with 405kg of tinned lychees, and was lightly dry hopped with Citra.

Tomato Tamade!

ABV: 4.5% | 15 IBU

Is it a fruit or is it a vegetable? Neither! It’s our latest experimental beer inspired by a beer cocktail, the Michelada… Ignore the circular logic and just drink it! This beer started life as a humble golden ale, but was transformed into a fire-breathing flavor demon through additions of tomato, lime, and chili pepper. Brewed in collaboration with Gigantic Brewing Co. from Portland, Oregon.

Chun Pear Saison

ABV: 5.5% | 20 IBU

Brightly floral, fruity and crisp, this springtime saison was blended with the juice of fresh Xinjiang pears and a pinch of cardamom. The first in a two-part collaboration series with NBeer – look out for the next one (a dark ale) in Fall 2018!


Black Tentacle

ABV: 11%  |  50 IBU

The wall couldn’t keep out this monster! We brewed this menacing imperial stout in collaboration with Barnaby Struve, a brooding brewer from Gothenberg’s Stigbergets Bryggeri. It fills the glass a bottomless ink-black with rich brown head. Pull it in for a sip to let it smack you across the face with a heavy hand of chocolate, bourbon, oak, and earthy hops.

Ice Ice Baby

ABV: 6.6%  |  40 IBU

A 100% Cryo Hop IPA made in partnership with YCH (Yakima Chief – Hopunion). Cryo hops are the concentrated lupulin of whole-leaf hops, separated at extremely low temperatures to preserve the aromatic hop components and remove most of the vegetal leafy matter. For this beer we used Citra and Loral varietals imparting notes of juicy lychee, grapefruit, lemon zest, piney hop resin, and a hint of black pepper.


Electric Avenue

ABV: 6.5% | 45 IBU

A collaboration with Mondo Brewing Company from London. We took a quintessentially British brown ale brewed with low-bitterness roasted and chocolate malts, then charged it with 10,000 volts of US and Southern Hemisphere hops to jump-start your palate with bold notes of citrus and pine.

Mixed Culture Revolution

ABV: 6%

A collaboration with Holy Mountain (Seattle, WA) for the 2017 8×8 Brewing Project. A mixed fermentation saison with an addition of fresh Kumquats.


Mead Me in the Middle (Kingdom)

ABV: 9% | 20 IBU

A collaboration with Denali Brewing from Talkeetna, Alaska on their first visit to Beijing. We brewed a type of mead known as braggot, a style that’s like a halfway point between mead and beer as it’s brewed with both honey and barley malt. Shangrila Farms Chasteberry Honey from Mentagou, a protected ecological area west of Beijing, and Nelson Sauvin hops combine for rich floral notes and a semi-sweet finish.

A rich baltic porter infused with dates and figs smoked on lychee and applewood. Brewed in collaboration with Põhjala from Tallinn, Estonia.


Jasmine Tea Bock

ABV: 6.8%

A collaboration brew with Bierfabrik in Berlin. Light hoppy citrus on the nose with a pleasant subtle jasmine tea infusion and light hoppy finish.


Hop into Houhai

ABV: 6.2% | 35 IBU

A mouth-puckering IPA brewed with Australian and New Zealand hops and then soured for a surprising combination of tartness and hop bitterness. Bright and juicy, with notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and black pepper. Brewed in collaboration with Wuhan’s No. 18 Brewing.


Han Meimei

ABV: 6% | 20 IBU

An experimental brew featuring organic raspberries from Yinchan and cardamom, made in partnership with imbeer. This is the first publicly-available beer fermented with the new BE-134 Saison yeast, which lends aromas of fruit tree blossoms and cloves. On the palate, the tart raspberries mingle with the sweet spice of the cloves, ending with a refreshingly dry finish.


Dualistic Oversimplification Szechuan Sour

ABV: 5% | 15 IBU

This beer is one half of a two-part series we’ve brewed in collaboration with Vietnam’s Pasteur Street Brewing: Two diametrically opposed beers – a kettle sour and a stout – both featuring the same three special ingredients: cocoa nibs, dried tangerine peel, and Sichuan pepper. A tart ale with a bright floral aroma and notes of sweet citrus on the palate. Subtle nutty notes and a spicy mala buzz emerge in the finish.


Duck Rye’der

ABV: 7.2% | 52 IBU

A Rye IPA conditioned on charred Jujube wood, brewed in collaboration with Louisville KY’s Against The Grain Brewery. Wood from the Jujube (Chinese date tree) is traditionally burned for roasting Beijing duck, and in this beer it envelops hoppy notes of spices and grapefruit with a layer of sweet fragrant smoke.


Pineapple Cake Pale Ale

ABV: 5.5% | 16 IBU

A gold-colored pale ale that opens with a burst of fresh pineapple, whose sweet and sour flavor balances with citrus and passionfruit notes from Riwaka hops. Taiwanese Pineapple Cakes added directly to the mash add an appropriate hint of sweetness and a biscuity finish to this cross-the-straits collaboration with Taihu Brewing from Taipei.


PuPu Porter

ABV: 7.4% | 45 IBU

Our second collaboration with Norwegian craft brewery Nøgne Ø is an invigorating dark ale. We’ve layered the earthy and herbal flavors of aged Pu’er Tea from Yunnan Province over a full-bodied base of roasted malts. Moderate bittering hops allow thedistinctive character of the tea to take center stage.


Szechuan Nectarine Gose

ABV: 4.7% | 5 IBU

Aromas of ripe nectarine and orange peel shine foremost with a light earthy spice of Sichuan peppercorns and a clean salinity of sea salt, which balances the mouthfeel of this around-the-globe Gose. Brewed in collaboration with Culmination Brewing in Portland.

Buck Wild Summer Lager

A light, crisp brew featuring Sichuanese buckwheat tea, brewed in collaboration with Chengdu Harvest Brewing Co.


Pomegranate Beijinger Weisse

ABV: 5.6% | 10 IBU

A lactobacillus kettle sour with late additions of fresh pomegranate juice and hibiscus for a clean, tart flavor. Originally brewed in collaboration with 10 Barrel Brewing and Elysian Brewing.


Imperial Stormtrooper Stout

ABV: 7.4% | 52 IBU

Rather than giving you some speech filled with superfluous Star Wars innuendo and references to how we used Galaxy and Comet hops in a brew kettle far, far away… or how we turned pale malts to the dark side with a red lightsaber’s swish of Carafa 3 and Roasted Barley… we are just going to be honest. It’s an Imperial Stout. The Emperor would love it.


Eightfold Path Imperial Stout

ABV: 8.6% | 65 IBU

An imperial stout featuring eight different malts, including hand-roasted Tibetan Barley, for notes of dark cocoa and coffee. Brewed in collaboration with 10 Barrel and Elysian Brewing.

Nine Rivers Imperial Chestnut Ale

ABV: 8.6% | 40 IBU

In the foothills of the Great Wall lies an area of farmland, known as the Nine Rivers, where the best chestnuts in China are grown. This beer, a collaboration with Norwegian brewmaster Kjetil Jikiun, features local roasted chestnuts and a strong malty backbone to help you through the cold Beijing winter.


Beijing Miracle

ABV: 4.44% | 24 IBU

Beijing’s first city-wide collaboration (京A, GLB, Slow Boat, NBeer, Panda, and Arrow Factory) is a 4.44% ABV Belgian pale ale, brewed with 4.4 grams of star anise (notice a theme?), 4444 seconds on the boil, dry-hopped with 444 grams of German Comet Hops for a finish of 24 IBU. Fruity and spicy notes from the Belgian style yeast, and a blackberry and blackcurrant hop aroma.


Imperial Koji Saison

ABV: 14% | 25 IBU

In Spring 2015, Alex and Kris traveled to Grimstad, Norway, to brew this radical collaboration with our good friend Kjetil. Together, we created this Imperial Saison brewed with fresh koji from Nøgne Ø’s sake brewery, aged Chinese orange peel brought from the far reaches of the Orient, and a Saison/sake yeast blend. Dry, complex, umami flavors in a beer that defies definition, shocks the senses, and opens the mind to new possibilities!


Hutong Clan CDA

ABV: 9% | 75 IBU

This Imperial Cascadian Dark Ale brings the ruckus with an extreme dose of Pacific Northwest hops and an addition of fiery Chinese ginger. Originally brewed in collaboration with Boneyard Beer (Bend, Oregon).


One Beer Two Systems

ABV: 5.8% | 25 IBU

Suan Mei Tang 酸梅汤 is a traditional sour plum drink brewed by Beijingers during the hot summer months. For the first chapter of this brew at Moonzen Brewery, we took the essence of this “老北京” drink – smoked sour plums, hibiscus, hawthorn berries and dried orange peel – and infused them into a wheat beer.
The second batch of this crisp, refreshing beer will be brewed in Beijing at 京A in Spring 2016, hence the name, “One Beer, Two (brewing) Systems”. 干杯!


Emperor’s Horses

ABV: 5.3% | 30 IBU

A collaboration between 京A and Boxing Cat Brewery, this crisp pilsner features fruity aromas from New Zealand hops and lychee fruit additions.


Frenchie’s Mom Summer Saison

ABV: 6.4% | 22 IBU

A collaboration between 京A and The Brew. The peppery character of this French-style saison is complemented by subtle hints of lavender and rose.

No one knows how many bicycles there are in Beijing, but there’s no doubt it’s a huge number, and these days colorful mountains of bikes are sprouting up all over town. We brewed this refreshing radler, a mix of crisp lager with fresh lemon and ginger juice, for all the Beijingers out there cruising around on two wheels.

Draw in a deep breath to be fully immersed in this beer’s rich aroma of sweet almond milk. After a sip, additional notes of toffee and lightly roasted nuts emerge, complemented by mild hop bitterness and a smooth finish.

One Hop Policy – Motueka

ABV: 5.5% | 45 IBU

A low-bitterness hazy pale ale brewed exclusively with Motueka hops from New Zealand. Bursting with fresh notes of sweet honeydew melon, fresh squeezed lime, and a light floral finish.


What About Mi?

ABV: 6% | 0 IBU

A sparkling sour mijiu (glutinous rice wine) that was fermented with a blend of brewer’s yeast, wild yeast and bacteria, and aged on mulberries and jujube dates for three months. Opens with juicy aromas of tart berries and stone fruit. Light-bodied and smooth with a hint of rice sweetness and a dry, sparkling finish.


Milk Tea IPA

ABV: 6% | 45 IBU

A low-bitterness IPA bursting with bright floral & citrus flavours of Columbus & Galaxy Hops. This beer was brewed with additions of Jasmine Tea & Lactose(the sugar found in milk), which give it an exceptionally smooth & well-rounded finish.


Beijing Kush

ABV: 6.5% | 60 IBU

This West Coast-style IPA was brewed with a massive dose of Australian and New Zealand hops to smother you with a balanced blend of sticky pine resin, stone fruit, spice, and citrus. Hop lovers will happily dive head-first into the dankness!

‘Tis the Saison

ABV: 6.5% | 20 IBU

A holiday farmhouse ale brewed with cardamom, fresh grapefruit and jasmine tea. Rich gold in color with notes of lightly toasted malt sweetness, jasmine flowers, spices and citrus peel.

Liangban Jinju

A light-bodied and tart mixed-fermentation gose. We conditioned this brew on fresh cilantro, lemongrass and kumquats for a mix of bright citrus and peppery herbal notes, tied together with a pinch of sea salt.

Winter Solstice

ABV: 8.7% | 25 IBU

British Strong Ale inspired by the Winter Solstice – the coldest and darkest day of the year. Dark mahogany in color with a malty aroma which holds notes of dried fruit, nuts and caramel. A flavorful and rich brew originally created by Yukun – the winner of the 6th Beijing Homebrew Competition in Summer 2017.

Big Brother Bottle 750

Big Brother Baltic Porter

ABV: 8% | 35 IBU

Gaze into this ominously dark and full-bodied brew and you might feel it watching you back. Pours a shade just shy of black with a thick brown head and a flavor dominated by toasted and roasted malts, with rich notes of dark chocolate, blackcurrant and licorice.

Bière de Guard

ABV: 8%  |  25 IBU

An easy-drinking ale based on a rustic French Bière de Garde, which translates to beer for keeping… in our case, keeping the neighborhood safe! Twelve months of cold-conditioning have allowed its spicy and fruity malt character to rise to occasion. It rounds off each sip with a satisfied nod of hop bitterness and a finish as clean as the new Sanlitun bar street.

Pai Huanggua

ABV: 5%  |  20 IBU

A super-refreshing gose (sour wheat ale) inspired by the classic Chinese appetizer of the same name, meaning Smashed Cucumber. Brewed with heaps of freshly crushed cucumber juice and a hint of sea salt to brighten the flavor. It’s the perfect beer for cooling off in the heat of Beijing summer!


Suan Mei Tang

ABV: 5.8%  |  25 IBU

Suan Mei Tang is a traditional sour plum drink popular in Beijing during the hot summer months.  We took the essence of this drink – hibiscus, hawthorn berries and dried orange peel – and infused it into a refreshing bright-purple wheat beer. You may remember the original batches of this brew, made in 2015 & 2017 as collaborations with HK’s Moonzen Brewery under the name “One Beer Two Systems”


Jing-Eh? Golden Maple Coffee Stout

ABV: 5.5%  |  25 IBU

Brewed in celebration of Canada Day, this beer features the combination of Canadian maple syrup and Chinese coffee beans from Yunnan to impart the roasted notes typical of a stout while keeping the beer a sunny golden hue. Enjoy it with a hearty breakfast of Canadian bacon and maple-glazed donuts… You won’t be sorry!


Wa Sai-son

ABV: 6.6% | 20 IBU

A straw-colored saison featuring notes of spice and citrus from zesty grains of paradise and coriander seed. With low hop bitterness from a mix of Asian and European hops and fruity, spicy aromas from the Belgian saison yeast.


Table Beer (Batch 1)

ABV: 3.5% | 10 IBU

Exclusively available at 京A Brewpub Xingfucun, this brew packs a big flavor for its low ABV. Inspired by traditional French and Belgian table beers enjoyed at meals. In our first rendition, a refreshing tartness helps cut through the rich and smoky flavors of our BBQ, while lightly toasted malt and gentle aroma hops will have you coming back for more.


Death by Mango IPA

ABV: 7% | 50 IBU

Our first foray into blending fresh fruit with hops, this NE-style IPA features a combination of tropical aroma hops to complement the plush flavor of a big addition of fresh mango.


Day Day Hop

ABV: 5% | 35 IBU

We added more hops than in any previous brew to bring you this hazy NE-style pale ale. A huge dose of Southern Hemisphere hops shine with notes of bright citrus and stone fruit, with a backdrop of resinous, spicy hops from the US.


Lychee Xanadu

ABV: 5.6% | 20 IBU

This cloudy straw-colored ale was soured with lactobacillus and infused with loads of juicy Chinese Lychees. The enticing flavor of white peach and lychee is balanced by a refreshing tartness and a sparkling, semi-sweet finish.

Beibingyang Summer Wheat

ABV: 4.8% | 15 IBU

A fluffy and refreshing summer ale brewed with wheat malt and candied orange peel for pleasant notes of citrus zest, orange blossom and apricot. Mildly hopped with a mix of German and American hops for a smooth, clean finish.



ABV: 5% | 35 IBU

A quaffable take on our Worker’s Pale Ale brewed with Zythos hops, a college diploma, 2 years of work experience, and no criminal record or adjuncts. Pours light copper in color, with brilliant clarity and a dense white head. Grassy, spicy and resinous hop aromas rest on a base of biscuity, lightly caramelized malts.

An ink-black imperial stout brewed with roasted barley from the Tibetan Highlands. A generous dose of New World hops strikes a balance with its rich malt base, resulting in luscious flavors of cocoa and freshly ground black pepper, with a hint of liquorice and lemon zest in the finish.


Lychee Chabuduo IPA

This pale-straw session IPA was brewed with fresh lychee fruit, whose delicate flavor is complemented by hoppy notes of freshly crushed white grapes. Its moderate bitterness and crisp, dry finish, means you won’t regret going back for more to get the job done!


Spring Blizzard IPA

ABV: 6.8% | 55 IBU

Inspired by the storms of white catkin-fluff that hit Beijing every Spring, this pale straw-colored IPA is light, dry, and unfiltered. Fresh hop aromas of citrus and melon intermingle with an infusion of jasmine green tea for a crisp, lasting finish.


Mijiaya Neolithic Ale

ABV: 3.7%

A 5000 year-old recipe for sour ale recreated with the help of Archaeologists at Stanford and the Shaanxi Institute of Archaeology. Based on their findings at the Mijiaya dig site in Shaanxi province – the earliest evidence of barley-based brewing in China – this beer was made with broomcorn millet, barley, mountain yam, and Job’s tears, plus hawthorn fruit, lily bulb, honey, and snake gourd root… all ingredients available to the ancient brewers of the late Yangshao period (3400 to 2900 B.C.). It was then soured with wild yeast collected on a farm in northern Shaanxi. Brewed without hops, this beer has an effervescent lemon tartness that cuts through the sweet and earthy flavors of its ancient fermentables.

A beer for the masses that originated during the Gold Rush of the late 1800’s. The California Common was brewed in shallow open vessels to control fermentation temperatures in the era before refrigeration. Enjoy our modern take on this amber, full-bodied beer with herbal and earthy hop bitterness and a toasty, malt-forward palate.


Galactic Haze IPA

ABV: 7.2% | 50 IBU

A cloudy, straw-colored IPA that blasts off with intense notes of key lime and passionfruit. The palate reveals a bold hop character, where bitterness blends with earthy, spicy hints of black pepper and lightly toasted malt. The crisp, dry finish leads you right back for another sip.


Huamei Gose

ABV: 6.5% | 25 IBU

Our take on the German sour beer known as Gose includes a big addition of Huamei – dried and salted Chinese plums. This wheat beer strikes the perfect balance between tartness and sweet fruit, tied together with a brightening pinch of salt.


Pomelo Xanadu

ABV: 5.5% | 15 IBU

The latest in our “Xanadu” series of Berliner Weisse-style beers. This pale straw ale has been soured with the use of lactobacillus and infused with loads of painstakingly pressed pomelo juice for big tart citrus notes, a sparkling mouthfeel and low hop bitterness.


Jasmine Tea Xanadu

ABV: 5.5% | 15 IBU

A Berliner Weisse-style ale brewed with an addition of jasmine blossom infused green tea. The nose offers floral followed by subtle notes of green tea on the tart and refreshing palate.


Yunnan Coffee Stout

An invigorating imperial stout brewed with hand-roasted Goodworks Coffee from Ning’er County, Yunnan Province.


Ale to the Chief

ABV: 5.5% | 32 IBU

In this brew inspired by the White House Honey Ale, Amber and Biscuit malts combine with Kent Goldings hops for a “fair and balanced” flavor. We couldn’t sneak into Obama’s apiary in the Rose Garden, so instead we’ve used the finest Pomegranate Blossom Honey from our friends at Shangrila Farms.

Gaige Kaifang

A revolution is brewing! Gaige Kaifang refers to “Reform and Opening Up”, the program of economic reform that China initiated in the late 1970s. Inspired by the breakneck growth and development of Chinese craft beer, we brewed this unfiltered Triple IPA to reform your palate and open up your mind to new hoppy possibilities. Pale gold with notes of bitter orange marmalade, grapefruit peel, black pepper and licorice. On the palate, resinous hops and a spicy bite of alcohol rule over the rich and chewy malt.

A full-bodied, toasty Oktoberfest lager brewed in the German Märzen tradition. Vienna and Pilsener malts balance with Hallertauer Tradition hops for a true taste of the old world. Prost!


Guizhou Smoked Chili Porter

A beer so smoky, we shouldn’t let it inside of our taproom. Beechwood smoked malt combines with the warming chili spice and fruity notes of smoked dried chili peppers sourced from Guizhou province in southwestern China.

Shua Ye 刷夜

Shua Ye 刷夜” meaning literally, “to paint the town”. this beer is meant to awaken the Lao Beijing in everyone. This Golden Ale sports a warm golden hue, brought on by adding roasted sweet potato and a dash of cumin to the mash. The result is a perfectly balanced beer with a tinge of spice, smoke, and caramel notes, providing an indulgence of local flavors reminiscent of Beijing’s hutongs on a spring night.


Urban Buzz Honey Ale

Get your buzz on with this golden-hued ale brewed with fresh local honey we collected at the Shangrila Farms rooftop hives in Beijing’s 798 and Sanlitun neighborhoods. Goes down easy, with distinctive floral and spicy flavors imparted by the urban honey.
