A bright, genre-hopping Helles that defies classification yet defines “easy drinking.” Brewed with Nanjing indie band Sixi, it features local Yuhua tea and Beijing peaches. It’s floral and restorative with a hint of crisp bitterness in the finish.
For centuries, camel caravans would set off from Hohhot packed with stacks of “brick tea,” dried whole leaf blocks traded on the silk road. The tea’s earthy maple-wood notes inspired this gose, with additions of coconut, raspberries, and coriander seeds. A heady brew that conjures long journeys and distant lands.
Based on the classic American Chinese take-out dish, this guilty pleasure IPA combines citrus and spice in a smooth, hoppy body. Fresh orange peels and aged chen pi bring refreshing aromatics, rounded out by a touch of Sichuan pepper. No chickens were used in the process!
An imperial stout featuring eight different malts, including hand-roasted Tibetan Barley, for notes of dark cocoa and coffee.
A bright Berliner Weisse brewed with Wuhan indieheads Chinese Football – as addictive as one of their iconic songs. With Yuzu notes and a refreshingly tart flavor, you’ll be hoping this one goes to extra time.
Brewed with the three-chord rhythm of Mosaic, Motueka and Cascade hops, this session IPA deceives with the subtle sweetness of candy floss and Madagascar vanilla before blowing off the roof with fruity notes and explosive flavors.
BACK TO THE DRAGON was brewed with Kunming punk trio South Acid Mimi. It features local Yangmei in a dangerously drinkable wheat beer – Mimism in a can!
A sour IPA brewed with Hangzhou’s math rock wunderkinds GriffO. It features local osmanthus, hibiscus, and a bass-line of Citra, Simcoe and Saaz hops. With floral and citrus notes, this polyphonic easy-drinker is kinetic and seductive, a high-energy sonic brew built like the band’s best songs.
